About the Penicillin
The Penicillin was created in New York by bartender Sam Ross. It combines blended Scotch with lemon, honey and ginger before adding a smoky Islay whisky float, creating a modern classic with layered depth.
What does a Penicillin taste like?
Smoky, citrusy and warming with honey sweetness, fresh ginger spice and a rich Scotch whisky backbone.
Tips for making a Penicillin
Use a strongly flavored ginger-honey component and float the Islay Scotch carefully over the finished drink for an aromatic smoky top note.
